POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I. Duties/Responsibilies
- Installing metal framing, drywall, drywall finisher, and acoustic ceilings
- Installing millwork and trims or moldings making clean and precise angles
- Installation of doors, frames, and related hardware
- Stocking material in designated rooms, using care not to damage corners of cartons
- Removing cutoffs and scrap to dumpster or recycle bin
- Identifying any unsafe conditions and take appropriate action
- Reviewing plans for proper millwork placement and review finish schedule for location of moldings and accessories
- Laying out millwork plan using lasers to achieve accurate levelness, review architectural plans and finish schedule for details related to the installations
- Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
II. Appearance/Company Representation
- Wears and cares for provided uniform.
- Clean and well groomed.
- Speaks articulately with tenants and vendors; remains compliant with confidentiality concerns.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; experience in the construction field, metal studs and drywall experience preferred but not required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to understand direction and read blueprints
- Ability to care for and use tools of the trade.
- Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods.
- Reliable transportation to get to jobsites throughout WNY required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
