DescriptionThis position manages and coordinates activities of employees engaged in preparing, verifying and maintaining records on all shipments, and inventory control. Manages two shiftsESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Directs shipping operations, and personnel to meet established shipping processing and quality control standards, to control budget and costs, and to provide data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products produced. Establishes short-term activities directed toward processing continuity and balance such as shift schedules, ensuring requisition of materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance. Coordinates and integrates with other plant function areas to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality. Selects, organizes, trains, and motivates processing labor force to ensure consistent attainment of processing schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels. Recommends improvements in processing flow or methods. Ensures effective use of operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality. Recommends modification of machines and equipment in order to improve processing and quality of products. Promotes a safe working environment for our employees.Responsible for working relations between USDA and plant personnel.Develop and manage the yearly budget Accountable for all operations in assigned areaResponsible for the direct supervision & training of area supervisorsMotivate and manage supervisors to ensure highest productivity from employeesDirectly involved in discipline of employees when necessary, ranging from verbal warnings to termination PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED equivalent (Additional education preferred but not required)4-6 years of management experienceMulti-Lingual preferred but not requiredExtensive knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping operations, and logistics preferredMust have good communication, interpersonal skills and maintain a good working relationship with plant management, plant employees, corporate and USDA/FSIS.Must have good decision-making and planning skills.Experience working with warehouse management systems, preferably Red PrairieRead and analyze production schedules, records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.Interpret specifications, job order, and company policies/procedures for workersExtended walking and standing8-10 years experience in Shipping inventoryAble to work most Saturdays and some Sundays (50+ hrs./week)Highly motivatedDegree in operations management or supply chain preferredRead and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputsPlan orders in system/track inventoryInterpret specifications, job orders, and company policies/procedures for workers Responsibilities: EOE/Vet/Disabled
