Neonatology Opening in Indiana - Located in Mishawaka, IN; South Bend 5m, Chicago 100m - Full-time, permanent - 7 on, 7 off schedulePosition Details: - PRN neonatologists are available when needed. 24/7 Ob/Gyn laborist program in place; one Maternal Fetal Medicine physician on staff; one pediatric hospital on during the day. - Doctor is generally available on site during usual day time hours and available from home remainder of shift. - Average births per year are 2,000. Continued growth is expected. - Level III NICU with 12 private beds. Unit is pro-breast feeding; baby friendly. - Philosophy is a hands off approach, intervention only when necessary. - Familiarity with oscillator, nitric oxide, intubation, chest tube placements, lumbar puncture, ventilation management, invasive (ETT), non-invasive (BiPap/CPAP), exchange transfusions, paracentesis, and thoracentesis. - Opportunities for teaching do exist with our FM residents and other staff.Benefits: - Competitive salary range in line with MGMA standards. - Malpractice paid by corporation, including tail insurance. - Health/dental/vision/disability/life insurance/retirement benefits on first day. - 27 days off per year; 5 days and $3,000 for CME. - $3,000 per year for professional journals, dues, and memberships. - Relocation assistance provided in accordance with policy. - Student loan assistance available.About the Facility: - System has been in the Michiana region for over 100 years. A new 254-bed hospital was built in 2009 in Mishawaka; a 58-bed hospital is in Plymouth. - All private rooms; some of the services provided include oncology, neurology, obstetrics, surgery, pediatrics, and orthopedics. - Our employed Physician Network includes 20 practice sites with over 70 primary care and specialist physicians. - The Michiana area, north-central Indiana and south-western Michigan, has a population of more than 240,000. - Known for the legendary University of Notre Dame, the area boasts several colleges and universities, along with multiple reputable private and public school systems.Close proximity to Chicago and Indianapolis and Lake Michigan.
