Our portfolio of national and super-regional brands and licensed products includes Hood, Heluva Good, Lactaid, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze, Planet Oat and more.For candidates based in NY this position typically pays between $76,000 - $89,000/annually.Job Summary: Support the Fluid, Culture, and Ice Cream division’s process improvement team and the respective plant leadership teams by driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practices, while maintaining accountability for compliance to variance reduction and efficiency improvement plans.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Process Improvement Manager to research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.
Challenges accepted methods of practice in favor of continuous improvement by increasing operating performance, reducing waste and promoting cost reduction. Collaborates with support departments to achieve continuous improvement goals (i.e., Maintenance, Engineering, Food Safety and Quality) Communicates with plant leadership teams about ongoing continuous improvement projects, which includes leading teams.
Exhibit working knowledge of equipment, testing programs, and testing equipment (i.e., Volt meter usage, pumps, smart valves, etc.) Provides employee training and development in regards to usage variances and efficiencies Creates and presents visual aids for tracking and trending data specific to continuous improvement projects. Supports plant leadership teams during root cause analysis exercises.
Ensure compliance with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing, safety, and working conditions.
Travel (which will include overnights) on occasion to company sites, external vendors and training sites at least 50%
Education and Experience:
At least 5-8 years’ experience in Dairy Plant manufacturing or Dairy Plant support departments and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Operations, or Engineering Utilization of BPCS and/or SAP required Utilization of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for problem solving required
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams and Outlook) Proficient in Leadership Skills (i.e., Collaboration, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Change management, Organizational Competencies) Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams Strong verbal & written skills required Strong presentation skills (written & delivery) preferred Awareness of Plant Reporting systems (i.e., OEE Tracker, QA Studio) Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (5S, 6σ, etc.) preferred
