Job Description:The Patient Care Tech functions as a clinical support partner to assist the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional.Are you searching for a position where you can truly make a difference in someone's life? As a CNA within this unit, you'll discover a warm, welcoming environment filled with active and engaged elders whom we deeply care for.Currently, our 47-bed unit is staffed with two RNs per shift, along with six CNAs and a dedicated bath aide during the day. In addition, we have invaluable support from our activities director, aides, restoration aide, and social worker. While the work may be demanding, you'll have the time and assistance needed to provide exceptional care.At our facility, resident input matters. Our Residents Council convenes monthly to offer suggestions on various aspects, from menu enhancements to daily activities and outings. Let's discuss how your unique talents and career aspirations can complement our teamScopeResponds to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care, obtaining vital signs, and communicating constructively, effectively and timely with members of the care team.Performs 12-lead EKG duties commensurate with the level of training received and competency.Apply, check and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician.Performs wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection.Performs equipment and tube care/management e.g. JPs, hemovacs and nasogastric tubes, and Foley removal.Assists with patient transfers, admissions and discharges as directed and in compliance with the principles of safe patient handling.Orders and maintains office and patient care floor stock/supplies.Performs the duties of unit secretary. Maintains patient charts, responds to phone calls, maintains daily assignment board, provides equipment care/cleaning, performs errands associated with patient care and provides accurate information about the patient with interdisciplinary team.Assist physicians and RNs as directed.Minimum QualificationsRequiredSuccessful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training programCertification as a Nursing Assistant (C N A ) in the state of MontanaCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hirePreferred1+ years of previous experience in a health care settingTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong oral and written communication skills. Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.Physical Requirements:Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.Location:Holy Rosary HospitalWork City:Miles CityWork State:MontanaScheduled Weekly Hours:36The hourly range for this position is listed below.
