There are many reasons to build your career at Carter's.HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:Experienced technical designer leader with the ability to drive performance of a team and contribute to overall team strategy.- 35%: Development Taskso Responsible for timeline adherence by ensuring all T/P for all product categories are delivered to development partners on timeo Monitor development process to meet calendar deadlines and work closely with cross functional partnerso Administer library of patterns and blockso Approve block patternso Determine which blocks need to be update, eliminated, or addedo Benchmark pattern studies for competitor brands, analyze results and share with Technical Design leaders and cross functional partnerso Lead communication with cross functional partners (Design, Merch, Quality and PDC), representing the interests of the Technical Design teamo Act as key sponsor for Technical Design initiatives in partnership with cross functional teamso Manage the development workload and meeting timeline- 15% Fit Reviewso Lead projects related to grading, construction, etc.o Collaborate with CGS TD and cross functional teams (i.e. Manufacturing Excellence, Quality Assurance, etc.) to determine minimum construction standardso Establish and validate fit standardso Champion best practices in fit standards and processo Supervise key fittings to ensure standardization and timely fit samples approval, offering support and guidance to team memberso Identify and conduct root cause analysis of product failureso Build approval process and generic placement manualo Facilitate discussion with Design for process opportunities, product issues, and solutionso Liaise with cross functional teams to find solutions for potential risk constructions, offering technical solutions- 20% Coaching & Leadershipo Supervise the operations of the team in accordance with protocol and practices set out by leadershipo Develop Technical Design operational plan including manpower requirements, hiring structure and process, policy and operating procedureo Mentor and assist managers with coaching implementation- 10% Projectso Plan and deliver Technical Design initiativeso Provide effective status reporting, project budget management and timeline managemento Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders in accomplishing project objectiveso Provide technical support and expert advice on discipline-related issues to other members of the project team as well as to in-house staff on of other divisions- 10% Reportingo Anticipate, communicate, and mitigate risks/escalations to deliver a great fit, measured by KPI’so Act as the voice of the consumer and other quality reportso Meet or exceed Technical Design productivity and quality metrics as related to established KPI’s, setting high expectations and standards for the team- 10% Strategyo Assist in building and support the implementation of strategy as aligned with Technical Design leadershipo Align with Sourcing strategy in terms of product, CO, and vendor baseWE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF: (REQUIREMENTS SECTION) Must have:- Strong technical Design expertise, pattern and grading.
