The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for developing, planning and assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in the QA and Food Safety activities in support of Kettle Cuisine s quality assurance operations and goals. Ensuring that company standards are exceeded with a targeted emphasis on continuous improvement, providing support, structure and documented formalized training for employees within the organization in all areas. The position requires a hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead subordinates and others on the second shift. The Quality Assurance Supervisor must be a skilled communicator who can convey information, ideas and policy to all levels within the organization. In the absence of the FS&QA Supervisor, the duties will be performed by either the Quality Assurance Manager or Director or as prescribed by the company s organizational chart.Kettle Cuisine takes the utmost pride in its products and expects each employee to do the same with their work. Role and Responsibilities:Organize and Coordinate QA activities of the second shift respective TeamsServe as Food Safety Management System Team Leader to ensure the training of Food Safety Team Members, ensure that the Food Safety System is established, implemented, maintained; Prerequisite Programs, HACCP and HARPC (Preventive Controls), GMPs, SSOPs, GFSI, USDA, NOP and GFCO guidelines and policies are adhered toLead the internal auditing programEnsure audit readiness for all Internal Quality Audits, SQF, GFCO, FDA, USDA, NOP and all other 3rd Party audits, and respond to findings with Preventive and Corrective ActionsLead the execution of cultural changes and activities needed to support Continuous Improvement and QA&FS Initiatives on the second shiftProvide day-to-day leadership to QA&FS Departments and act as the primary liaison to outside laboratories, and to external regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA)Ensure effective review, monitoring of QA and Production Records and escalate as neededStrong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with frontline employees, peers, and executivesAbility to drive positive change in both processes and systems and cultureTrack, analyze, and lead initiatives for all quality and customer complaint issues within the plant-dashboard rollupKey Responsibilities:Complaint investigation and reduction.QA Program ImplementationMentor and Develop QA TechniciansAs A Leader Within the Kettle Cuisine Team You Are Expected To:Model and support Kettle s Core Values and safety cultureManage performance of all team membersBuild a strong, committed, and collaborative teamDevelop individual team members & their careersConduct annual reviews and PDPs for all direct team membersCreate a culture of accountability & performanceDrive a focus on quality and continuous improvementPlan work, track results and resolve variancesQualifications and Experience:BS Degree in Food Science is preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience in the Food Industry or related industry2 to 3 years in quality supervisory roleDemonstrated excellence in driving consistently strong profitable sales growthExperience working on Quality AssuranceStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skillsStrong Microsoft Office skillsHACCP Certified & PCQI CertifiedSQF Practitioner, with USDA and FDA experience is preferredKnowledge of Statistical Process Control, HACCP, Sanitation, and Hygienic designKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Strong Defect Root Cause Analysis processFinancial and business acumen.Required Attributes:Self-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forwardPositive attitude and motivated by contributing to the overall success of the teamAble to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersCreative problem solving skillsObsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at onceComfortable moving at a fast pace and in ambiguous environmentsPassionate about foodWilling to address difficult situations head on with patience and respectAmericans with Disabilities ActKettle Cuisine complies with all aspects of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state disability laws.
