Position: Environmental Compliance Engineer – Modular/Subsystem Compliance
Location: Austin, TX
Pay Rate: $40/hr on W2
Duration: 12 months on W2
Overview:
We seek experienced engineers with program management expertise to drive environmental compliance in modular and subsystem designs. The role involves identifying compliance-impacting materials and components, collecting data on material design for compliance assessments, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:


Support compliance across all subsystems, ensuring regulatory adherence for hardware and system modules.
Track material, component, and subsystem impacts across multiple assemblies, documenting their utilization and compliance.
Work closely with Design Engineering and Contract Manufacturing Partners to gather and verify material data.
Coordinate with subject matter experts on component usage against regulatory requirements.
Develop, standardize, and document SOPs for compliance processes and team onboarding.
Create training materials and communicate compliance findings to stakeholders.
Maintain comprehensive tracking, reporting, and documentation for environmental compliance initiatives.

Success Criteria:


Ensure assigned modules and programs release without re-work or compliance issues.
Provide a complete compliance document cataloging materials, parts, and results for designated programs/subsystems.

Qualifications:


Technical Proficiency: Skilled in 2D/3D technical drawings, EE schematics, and understanding ingress pathways.
Program Coordination: Experience with data tracking using spreadsheet tools (e.g., Numbers, Excel) across multiple projects.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Prior experience working with engineering teams and overseas manufacturing partners.
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with chemical and energy/repairability regulations; experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Airtable) is a plus.
Communication: Strong presentation skills for leadership updates.

Ideal Candidate Profile:


Holds an engineering background with program management skills.
Proven ability to handle fast-paced, multi-project environments.
Experience in consumer electronics or a comparable technical field is preferred.
