Job Posting Title: Classification A Tractor Trailer Driver/Switches

Position Summary:

This position requires the employee to move waste trailers onsite for loading and positioning for later shipment offsite with safety as the top priority. Transporter trailers are dropped at the transfer station by the transportation company. The employee inspects trailers, connects the yard horse or road tractor to the trailer and positions the trailer in the loading bay to be filled with municipal solid waste. Once the operator indicates the trailer is full, the driver will drive the trailer to the tarping station, clear any obstructions from the loading process and tarp the trailer. The trailer will then be parked for off-site shipment.

The employee works with other site employees, drivers delivering material and transportation contractors to maintain an orderly traffic flow.

The position requires a Class A CDL, as the transfer stations are on both sides of a public roadway.

Position requirements include:

  • Acceptable driving record
  • Always abide by standard DOT regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of commercial driving experience
