This position is responsible for analyzing and strategizing the procurement of raw materials to maintain proper inventory levels that support production needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned. Use strategic thinking and forward planning to maintain proper inventory levels that support sales, forecasts, and market trends for assigned items. Negotiate and coordinate raw material purchase orders, expedite/prioritize, and assess purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations where necessary. Review invoices for accuracy. Manage deliveries of vendor purchase orders and inter-site raw material transfers.Manage assigned category budget with regular reports outs of market and commodity analysis. Provide cost projections to sales and finance for customer pricing and budget forecasts. Plan and manage raw materials associated with new product launches and phasing out of discontinued raw materials. Manage and execute RFQ annually with vendor partners, maintain contracts and monitor contract balances for necessary revisions. Participate in cost and proposal analysis, contract negotiation & management, and program structuring to minimize risk with a heavy focus on vendor managed inventory programs. Monitor VMI programs through weekly/monthly inventory audits.Participate in vendor communication and relationship management, along with providing monthly forecast data to partners. Prepare meeting agendas and provide post meeting report outs for structured vendor business review meetings, on site, virtual or at vendor facility.Work with cross functional teams in coordinating test batches including documentation, samples and test setup.Participate in BOM revision project cross functionally.Participates in corporate Goals & Objectives (GO s) program.Utilize available data and reporting tools to ensure departmental KPI s are being met and identify areas of improvement. Partner with Procurement Coordinator for management of shared assigned categories to properly allocate tasks and responsibilities within the category.Requirements:3 years of food procurement/purchasing/manufacturing related experience. Bachelors preferred or equivalent combination of both education and experience.
