Requires working with live poultry, raw and/or cooked products. Typical assignments may include live hang, debone, cut up, evisceration, marination, stack off, overwrap and/or sanitation. Usually works five to six days a week ; overtime may be required based on production needs.Ossid Machine Technician is expected to have ownership of process to include setup, downtime, coordinating other operators, and perform routine service to production equipment and processes to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet-up and Inspect Equipment and related components for proper operation. Prepare equipment for sanitation.Perform specific duties during production hours such as lubrication, cleaning, changeovers, adjustments, blade replacement, etcObserve/adjust equipment for proper operation during production and/or report problems to managementPerform preventative maintenance on weekends and assist in equipment modifications or rebuilds to ensure proper machine function during production time.Maintain work and production area during production and on weekends as neededAdhere to all safety requirements including preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.Minimum EducationHigh School or equivalent not required but beneficial.Experience RequirementsWorked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.Experience PreferredExperience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsWhen in a plant environment:Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.Perdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
