Job Summary

Comcast Technology Solutions is looking for an executive engineering business leader ready for an incredible opportunity in the media technology space to run a large global and diverse development team that provides SaaS based/reoccurring revenue services to many major media and entertainment brands globally. This leader will report to the General Manger of the SB&A business unit and will have the responsibility to execute on the product vision for several product lines. The development team is currently comprised of over 250 employees plus contractor resources across US and Chennai based development teams. The VP of Engineering will be measured on their ability to effectively drive innovation at scale for our customer as well as develop a culture of close collaboration and operational excellence. Customers are US broadcast groups such as CBS/Paramount and NBC, cable programmers like AMC and Discovery, global MVPDs like BT, DT, OSN, and technology providers.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities/First Year Success Metrics:

The ideal candidate will have experience in media technology organizations and have a proven track record delivering at scale, motivating diverse teams, achieving results and have strong understanding how to operate a business in the media technology space.  The VP of Engineering will be expected to:

  • Ensure delivery of high quality, secure and reliable software systems aligned with the needs of the business across multiple teams.

  • Deliver on technical strategy and guide teams through technology decisions pragmatically.

  • Partner with product and work cross-functionally with other leaders in the organization to build out and prioritize technical roadmaps.

  • Recruit, develop and retain top engineering talent.   Work with recruiting to put together a hiring plan and strategy that supports both growth and diversity.

  • Lead the organization to recommend new technology and technical enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability within the engineering organization.

  • Inspire and motivate teams in a remote working environment. Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth.

  • Have a willingness and curiosity to have a career utilizing skills needed to operate a technology business at scale. 

  • Mentor and lead employees to encourage maximum performance, dedication, and success.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills with the ability to explain approach to all levels in the organization including key stakeholders and leaders.
  • Able to think strategically and see the big picture while also focusing teams on execution.
  • Ability to communicate objectives and goals broadly to engineering teams.
  • Experience managing and mentoring managers and directors and building out career pathing in an organization.
  • Proven success working closely with Product Management, contributing to the product strategy and helping to successfully deliver on the product and technical roadmap. Built and run solutions-focused organizations that deepen relationships with customers.
  • Expertise in identifying business and product opportunities. Ability to analyze trends and shift priorities as needed.
  • Proven ability to both lead directly and influence peers and leaders.

Education Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.  M.B.A. or business management degree desired. 

Years Experience:

  • Requires 20+ years related experience with 5+ years of industry related experience at a senior level

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $268,378.44 - $402,567.66
