What you will do with your teammates · Develop and enhance back-end micro services and APIs that exceed our customer’s expectations. This includes working on unit and functional test automation to ensure platform stability as well as maintaining and improving CI/CD implementation practices.· Foster the growth of Agile cloud development practices within the organization.· Pioneer new and innovative solutions by leveraging new software development methodologies and cloud technology offerings from AWS.· Provide support and technical guidance for imagery factory operating domains that make up the architecture of Maxar’s complex satellite imagery ground systems.· Collaborate with skilled and motivated teammates and peers. To us, this means being empathetic, an active listener, proactively helping others through knowledge sharing, being willing to aid those needing assistance, and working through challenges collaboratively as a team.· Provide Tier-3 level support for the software applications that you and your team owns.Minimum Requirements for this Position · Must be a US Citizen with the ability to apply for and hold a US Government Secret National Security Clearance· Candidates will have a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar related major as well as a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a software engineering related role. A Masters degree in a technical discipline may substitute professional experience· Staff-level candidates will have a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar related major as well as a minimum of 5 years of years of professional experience in software engineering related role. A Masters degree in a technical discipline as well as a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a software engineering role may also qualify for Staff-level engineering positions· Experience with software development using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and JavaEE· Experience with cloud-based processing environments leveraging CI/CD deployment concepts including familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, AWS EC2, and AWS Elastic· Experience with Linux operating systems and Linux shell scripting· Experience with automate software test development using Gherkin / Cucumber based test beds and familiarity supporting quality assurance on developed code.· Experience with IaaS and IaC cloud concepts including familiarity with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker based deployments· Experience with service oriented architectures, JSON formatting for REST service APIs, and service centric relational and spatial databases· Experience building monitoring and alerting systems in a serverless architecture· Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills· The ability to work collaboratively within a team environmentThese skills and traits would be amazing · Self-starter with the ability to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities· Ability to drive cross team collaboration· Certification in an AWS discipline of practice· Experience working in an Agile based software development environment and using tools such as Jira to organize, prioritize, and track technical workflow· Operations support or DevOps experience· Systems engineering or requirements management experience· Experience within the Aerospace or Geospatial industry· Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geospatial mapping tools such as ArcGIS or QGISIn support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$89,000.00 - $189,000.00 annually.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
