The Alexandria VA Medical Center in Alexandria/Pineville, LA, is seeking a compassionate, full-time, BC, MD/DO Physical Medicine & Rehab Physician to work in our PM&R Service.  Alexandria/Pineville is known as the 'Heart of Louisiana'.  National Geographic Traveler ranks Alexandria as one of America's top ten "wilderness towns" because of its incredible access to the one of the country's most beautiful and expansive national forests. Highlights of this position include:

  • Competitive Starting Salary $238,000 - $300,000
  • Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm. NO CALL
  • Provide care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting, including diagnosis, care and treatment, as well as consultations to other services when requested
  • Responsible for all facets of acute/chronic pain in ambulatory, hospital, or Community Living Center setting
  • Will assist in completing quality management reviews
  • Manage both medical and procedural based pain care, including MAT (suboxone)
  • Regularly attends PM&R Service, and medical staff meetings, Pain Management member
  • Supervise, teach, and coordinate teaching activities for PM& R related programs

 Additional Requirements:

  • Board Certified MD/DO
  • Board Certified in Physiatry (PM&R)
  • 5 years experience as a physiatrist
  • Required: DEA X Waiver (certification for prescribing Suboxone)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
  • Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
