About SAGE Concord:
Our SAGE Concord location opened a brand-new state-of-the-art facility in the summer of 2022 It is the largest Specialty and Emergency Hospital in the East Bay area. Our next-generation facility has allowed SAGE Concord to significantly expand its Emergency, Specialty, and Urgent Care services to the growing East Bay community.
Our Specialty offerings consist of Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery. This new facility features multiple advanced Surgery suites, as well as sophisticated Trauma response and Critical Care capabilities. Our vision in SAGE Concord is to continue the expansion of SAGEs existing services to meet the ongoing demand for additional services in our community.
We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department
About the role:
- Master neurological anatomy and function
- Perform high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance for surgeries and imaging
- Calculate medication and fluid doses for administration to hospitalized patients
- Assist in surgeries and advanced imaging procedures
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, etc.
- Perform and recognize normal physical examination parameters on canine and feline patients
- Noticing and documenting changes in patient attitude, abnormal behavior, and changes in condition
- Acquire histories and assist during neurologic consultations
- Positively impact patient care through collaboration with the Neurologist
- Participate in client education Utilize practice management software to maintain client and patient records
- Participate in helping paralyzed patients walk again
- Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance
Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time
- 4/10 schedule
- CA RVT preferred
- 2+ years in veterinary Neurology preferred
- Neurology and anesthesia experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
- Highly competitive and comparable wages based on experience and skill set.
- License application and renewal reimbursement for RVTs
