The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) are looking for a Full-Time Attorney Advisor, NH-IV, Pentagon, Washington DC. The primary purpose is to serve as an attorney-adviser in the Office of the Deputy General Counsel (Installations, Energy & Environment) (SAF/GCN) that is responsible for providing legal services pertaining to installations, energy, and environmental matters in support of the Air Force mission and operations worldwide. Directly responsible for providing legal and policy advice to the Secretariat and the Air Staff concerning installation law, including but not limited to: environmental planning, real and personal property acquisition, management, and disposal; enhanced use leasing; housing and utility privatization; military construction (MILCON) projects; base realignment and closure (BRAC); encroachment; strategic basing; community partnerships; transactional support; renewable and energy assurance projects; and legislative proposals.

Annual Salary starts at $163,964 - $191,900 (Based on experience)

• Eligibility for Top Secret Security Clearance (SIPR capability) required for the position.

• Knowledge of the role and duties of the Government attorney, including a practical knowledge of the Model Rules of Professional Conduct for Federal Lawyers and American Bar Association Rules of Professional Responsibility and the rules of the jurisdiction (s) in which incumbent is licensed to practice.
• Incumbent must be able to analyze extremely complex legal issues, including issues relating to installation, energy, and environmental law.
• Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Strategic Basing.
• Knowledge of the research methodologies, including computer-assisted technologies, necessary to research applicable Federal, State, interstate, and local laws and regulations concerning issues involving installation, energy, and environmental law.
• Superior skills in the areas of oral and written communications and interpersonal relationships.
• Knowledge of the administrative and judicial litigation process including significance of the administrative record.
• Knowledge of the federal legislative and inter-agency decision process.
