We are looking for a dedicated Radiology Technologist like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Radiology Technician performs radiographic procedures using fixed and portable units in the imaging department, nursing units, and operating suites. Assists physicians in fluoroscopy using fixed and portable units. Practices radiation safety and observes universal precautions at all times. Pursues professional development for the continual improvement of patient care. Performs related work as required.Performs all radiologic and fluoroscopic procedures following departmental protocols.Communicates to the patient the nature of the procedure and answer questions clarifying the procedure for the patient. Assures patients' rights and privacy are maintained.Reports any significant problems related to patients, physicians, x-ray procedures, housekeeping, maintenance, supplies, or personnel to Technical Director and or immediate supervisor.Responsible for proper documentation and maintenance of all required department records.Maintains equipment and work areas. What qualifications you will need:Education: Graduate of a program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education.Licensure: Current certification by the American Registry of Radiology: Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an RT(R) or eligible for registry. Note: Registry eligible applicants must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. BCLS certification required.Experience: Ability to perform radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures following accepted standards and departmental protocols. Reston Hospital Center is a certified Stroke Center, certified Total Joint Center and the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Northern Virginia.
