Laborer San Diego Ship Provisioning

Our Laborer position participates in the Ability One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positions.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist with loading and unloading provisions unto various naval ships.
2. Ensure accurate counting and recording of all incoming and outgoing items.
3. Sort, organize, and label supplies and equipment in designated storage areas.
4. Pack and secure supplies for safe transportation.
5. Prepare orders and validate accuracy against shipping instructions and documentation.
6. Conduct inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and assist with inventory management.
7. Complete and maintain paperwork and records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
9. Follow proper safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
10. Collaborate with team members and management to ensure a smooth operation.
11. Provide assistance in other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
2. Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
3. Physical fitness and capability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60lbs.
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
8. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members..
9. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Forklift certification or experience operating a forklift.
2. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to warehousing operations.
3. Experience working in a military or naval environment.
Environmental:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
