Safety Technician

In this role, the Safety Technician assists with ensuring facility compliance with OSHA, Army, and corporate safety directives by helping to administer an effective Safety Program. This includes issuing safety permits for activities such as hot work, confined space entry, line breaks, auditing the effectiveness of various programs, conducting building inspections, investigating safety incidents, and recommending corrective actions to reduce risks to ensure the safety of our employees, customers, subcontractors and tenants. This is a hands on position spending the shift in the plant and responding to safety issues. This position reports directly to a Safety Supervisor.
Note: This position is on a 12-Hour Rotating schedule.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and two years’ experience supporting occupational safety in a manufacturing environment or experience in operational areas at RFAAP or a similar energetic manufacturing facility; or an Associates and four years of experience; or High School and six years of experience; or the overall equivalent.
- Able to support a 12-Hour Rotating schedule.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Self-motivated with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software applications.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to effectively disseminate information and work collaboratively with others.
- Able to influence site employees at all levels of the organization to coach and adjust behaviors in support of a positive safety culture.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Qualified to wear a respirator.
- Preferred to have 5 years’ experience in occupational health at a manufacturing facility or 5 years’ experience in operational areas at RFAAP or a similar energetic manufacturing facility.
- Prefer to have some experience working with energetics.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Safety or other related field preferred, but not required.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $65800 - $105300
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
