Develops and monitors a range of programs including growing, vaccinating and feed programs and other various measurements to ensure the meeting company goals and objectives.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTravels to Growout facilities, poultry houses and/or research farms monitoring conditions to ensure bird health.Provides leadership, training and coaching to associates, as well as producers to ensure all company policies and programs are being met.Complies and follows company requirements regarding bio-security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.When managing a research farm, coordinates all resources necessary to conduct research trials including chicks, feed, fuel, litter, labor, live haul, processing and yield.
Generates and maintains all records according to specific trial protocols and implements programs to ensure accuracy of all research data.
Reviews data for inaccuracies and implements corrective actions.
Establishes operating procedures designed to minimize bird stress and to optimize the quality of the research data in order to distinguish differences between experimental treatments.Ensures a safe working environment for associates working on the site.Minimum EducationHigh School or equivalentExperience Requirements0 -3 years.
Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Should be computer literate with skills in Microsoft.Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.
Experience PreferredBS degree in Animal Science or related disciplineEnvironmental Factors and Physical Requirements1. Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants. 2. Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 4. Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses. 5. Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs. 6.
