Facilities Technician

New Journey, a Genesis10 company, is seeking a Maintenance Facilities Technician for a 3-month Contract position with the potential for extension or conversion.

Compensation: $37.00 per hour

Summary: The main function of a Facilities Technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings. This individual must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of building operations, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.

Job Responsibilities: Handyman type work
General contracting
Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Troubleshoot power, HVAC system and controls, and mechanical systems.
Maintain general & preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials, as requested.

Skills: High school diploma or GED required
Building Services Knowledge
5 - 7 years of construction or building engineering related experience
HVAC license could help (not looking for electrician)
General contracting experience
Experience troubleshooting power, HVAC system and controls, and mechanical systems.
Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
