The Department Secretary provides essential administrative and clerical support for the department and assumes the role of liaison between department personnel.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite in day-to-day operations
- Performs routine administrative tasks: scheduling appointments, events, meetings, and ordering supplies
- Assists in the department associate chaplain schedule
- Assists in administration of time keeping process and UKG application
- Facilitates inter and intra departmental communication in a professional manner
- Utilizes other electronic applications as needed
- Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of sitting or standing for 2-4 hours at time, standing, bending, and stooping. Must have fine finger coordination to use office equipment and computer. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation and telephone use. Must be able to see as it relates to general vision and peripheral vision for safe, efficient operation of office equipment.

Employees who work in patient care areas where they may have potential exposure to patients with suspected or proven tuberculosis (TB) must have the ability to wear a particulate respirator and be fit-tested in compliance with the current recommendations from the CDC (enforced by OSHA) or must provide physician documentation as to the inability to wear a particulate respirator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Graduate/GED required. Background in business, computer or health related field preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Three years related office experience required, preferably in a medical setting. Excellent oral and written skills required to relate effectively with managers, patients, families, and staff at various levels.
WORK SCHEDULE: Day shift 20 hours per week as scheduled, with varying hours based on the needs of the department
