Job DescriptionJob Title: Inventory Control Specialist/PlannerDepartment: Finance/Production/Logistics/QA-RegulatoryTHIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITIONSummaryAssists, Directs and Coordinates activities relating to Purchasing, Inventory, Planning, Logistics and Quality Assurance-Regulatory of food products, materials, and supplies in an organization by performing the duties personally or through other Team Members or subordinate personnel as assigned.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following
(Other duties may be assigned)Plans, organizes, assists, and controls activities related to the procurement/inventory/production/QA functionsCoordinates and Plans instructions regarding purchasing systems, procedures, inventory allocations and finance related activityAnalyzes market, delivery conditions and financial impacts to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports and production need forecastsDevelops and assists to evaluate vendor quotations and programs that utilize appropriate techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service as well as aligning with Financial ParametersDesigns, implements, manages, and monitors procurement/inventory/planning reporting systems to meet company requirementsAssists in maintaining suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct in line with company QA-Regulatory ParametersCoordinates as part of Procurement/Inventory/Logistics Teams, purchase orders, inventory releases and change noticesReviews purchase order/inventory/logistic/quality claims and contracts for conformance to company policyCoordinates and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, price and acceptability of items to specificationsPart of Team that reviews all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity, quality and demandAssigns/Allocate inventory and procurement requests to the appropriate personnelIdentifies/Reviews requests for products, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors in relation to inventory allocation/planningCompetencies - To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.Technical Skills - Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments.Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively.Leadership - Exhibits confidence in self and others.Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions; Displays orientation to profitability; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition.Cost Consciousness - Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures.Organizational Support - Follows policies and procedures.Judgment - Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Makes timely decisions.Motivation - Sets and achieves challenging goals; Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Sets goals and objectives.Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.Attendance/Punctuality - Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments.Initiative - Seeks increased responsibilities; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities.Innovation - Generates suggestions for improving work.Qualifications -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Mathematical Skills -
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability -
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
