About the PositionThe Hot Structures Design Engineer will report to the Large Military Engineering Low Pressure Turbine Leader and will be responsible for the design, producibility and module integration of hot structures hardware. This role will own part of the turbine rear frame (TRF), aft center body, and other low pressure turbine (LPT) hot structures hardware on the product lines in F110 Series and Advanced Programs.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the design, analysis, producibility, and maintenance of TRF LPT structure components and associated static (structural) and dynamic (vibration as applicable) behaviors by using engineering, physics, and material principles.Work with military customers to develop and implement new technology programs for improvement and optimization of legacy products.Horizontal collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.Developing in-depth knowledge of the structures technical discipline by working with mentors in the Chief Engineer's Office . Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.Internal and external customer (United States Airforce, Navy, others) interface.Lead design efforts for safety and quality activities pertaining to owned hardware.Manufacturing support activities to enable engine delivery to our military customers.Collaboration with Project, Value Chain Planning (VCP) Lab, Mfg. Programs and Supply Chain to enable and execute cost out opportunities.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team membersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 3 years' experience with design engineeringDesired CharacteristicsRelevant design and/or manufacturing experience of aerospace hot structures hardware.Proficient in ANSYS and NX Unigraphics.Strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.#LI-MF1This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
