Job Title: NDE EngineerLocation: Cheswick, Pennsylvania Job Type: Full timeSalary: $100KAbout the Role: Our client is seeking a dedicated NDE for a full time opportunity. This role involves leading the planning, implementation, and maintenance of non-destructive examination procedures, training, and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a commitment to quality and safety.Responsibilities:Lead actions for planning, implementing, and maintaining NDE procedures and training.Facilitate and oversee the quality program regarding NDE scope.Train inspection and operation personnel in various NDE methods, including Radiography Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing, Welder Workmanship, and Alloy Identification.Manage quality issues related to NDE at various organizational levels.Keep management informed of work progress, delays, or issues.Perform data analysis to evaluate processes and implement corrective and preventive actions.Mentor inspection, operations, and engineering personnel.Participate in internal control processes, including certified material test report reviews, procedure reviews, requirements flow down, and quality inspection plans.Evaluate contract proposals to ensure appropriate requirements are communicated to suppliers and internal customers.Coordinate witness and hold points with internal and external customers.Work independently and in teams to drive actions to completion.Participate in commercial grade surveys and audits as required.Represent the business with suppliers, customers, and regulators, exhibiting core values.Ensure supplier and customer contractual requirements are met.Qualifications:3+ years of experience in quality or engineering, with experience in non-destructive examination, preferably in a Commercial or Navy Nuclear environment.Level II/Inspector certification in Radiography Testing (RT) and either Magnetic Particle (MP) or Ultrasonic Testing (UT).Willingness to obtain Level III/Examiner certification in RT and other NDE disciplines.Training and certification in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A or NSTR-99 to meet ASME NB-5500, NAVSEA T9074-AS-GIB-010/271, NAVSEA 250-1500-1, or MIL-STD-2132 requirements.Working knowledge of Nuclear Quality Assurance Programs, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, ISO-9001.Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Technical degree in Materials Engineering or a related field.Strong ambition to own a program and be an individual contributor for an extended period.Preparedness to learn and qualify NDE methods for up to 8 years, balancing qualifications and work responsibilities.
