We have an exciting opportunity for an RF/Microwave Engineering Electrical Engineer II to join our engineering test team at the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Perform RF/microwave/millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules and MMICs (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits)
  • Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements
  • Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems
  • Use software to control test equipment and plot test results
  • Support the MMIC and module design teams

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • In absence of a degree, 3 years of prior related work experience is required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment such as Performance Network Analyzers (PNAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), Spectrum Analyzers, Real-time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Noise Figure Analyzers, Load-Pull systems etc
  • Experience/coursework in one or more of the following: RF/microwave, Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Electromagnetics
  • Experience with any of the following software: Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
