Part TimeJob Status: HourlyStarting Pay: $19.50Direct Reports: NoneReports Directly to: Swine NutritionistLocation: Hedrick, IA Purpose & Scope: The role of Feed QA Lab Tech
part time is pivotal to ensuring that JBS Live Pork's nutrition team can formulate and deliver quality diets to our pigs every day. You will aid the full-time lab technician with the receiving, testing, and data entry for all complete feed and ingredient samples that are submitted to the lab. Ensuring quick turnaround times and data accuracy is of the upmost importance as the information generated from the feed lab is used to drive daily decisions.
Essential Functions:Conduct a range of tests (particle size, pellet durability, mycotoxin, and NIR) on feed and ingredient samples submitted to the labMaintain accurate and error free data entry as the information generated directly influences real time nutrition decisionsAssist full-time lab staff in conducting feed and ingredient analysis, ensuring a seamless workflow and timely data analysis and entryMaintain a clean and organized lab that meets or exceeds JBS Live Pork s standards. These factors are essential for ensuring both your individual performance and the JBS Live Pork nutritional services department is successful in delivering high-quality feed to our producers and pigs.
Job Qualifications:RequiredMust be able to read/write English and authorized to work in the U.S. High School Diploma or equivalent and authorized to work in the U.S.Basic knowledge of math Knowledge of MS Office products including MS Excel Ability to follow written procedures and established testing methodsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred Qualifications:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPrior experience in admin/office work environment/production related workAdvanced knowledge of MS Excel2- or 4-year College degree in Agriculture, the Sciences, or related fieldsWorking Conditions:The employee must occasionally lift and/move up to 50 lbs.The employee may be exposed to dusty conditionsThe employee is regularly exposed to high noise environmentsThe employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the processThe applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the followingcompensation and benefits:Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;Paid Time Off: vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;401(k):company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule.Better Futures Program
