Zurich North America is hiring a RCIS Crop Underwriting Account Service Associate to join the Crop Underwriting team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota As an Underwriting Account Service Associate, you will support crop insurance agent customers, work closely with experienced Underwriters in the review and analysis of risks. You will enjoy the opportunity to fully apply and hone your research, analytical, and critical thinking skills to effectively assess risks and grow your career.     RCIS Crop Underwriting Associates perform various tasks. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating crop insurance policies, while adhering to company policies, state, and federal guidelines within their established authority. This position is a hybrid model that supports a blend of in office and remote work from the Sioux Falls, SD area. In this role you will be responsible for: Ensure complete and accurate crop insurance policy underwriting by reviewing applications, written agreements, policy change forms, actual production history (APH) databases, acreage reports (AR), gathering missing information, resolving inconsistencies, and outlining next steps.Respond to and process requests from claims and compliance departments related to the underwriting of policies.Rectify errors and issues identified in the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC) Error Report.Specific duties as assigned by the leadership team to underwrite and support regional specialty crops. Regional specializations, i.e., Category C crops, whole-farm revenue protection, or Livestock Products.Supports Underwriter with broker/agent/distributor/customer interactions by providing outstanding customer service skills. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaORZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaORHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance areaANDKnowledge of data collection and analysisMicrosoft Office experience Preferred Qualifications: Insurance industry knowledge applicable to underwriting rules and proceduresKnowledge of agriculture, livestock, and/or multi-peril crop insurance and specialty programsSuperior skills in relationship building, active listening with customers and co-workersStrong verbal and written communication skillsCustomer service experienceEnjoys working with details and providing accurate data and/or information in a timely mannerProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe AcrobatAbility to multi-task5% TravelAs an insurance company, Zurich is subject to 18 U.S. Code § 1033. As a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to any COVID-related health and safety protocols in place at that time (https://www.zurichna.com/careers/faq). A future with Zurich.
