Here at T-Mobile, we are using data science to revolutionize our approach to fraud and we are looking for someone to join the team making this a reality We're looking for a Data Scientist who is ready to jump into the deep end with us. Use every tool and technique you have, and some you may pick up along the way, to create unique solutions to complex problems. We are looking to build extensive models around fraud detection, prevention, and process improvements through a measured approach and established feedback loop. You'll work with teams inside and outside of Fraud Management to collaborate, build proof of concepts, and turn data into insights. The teammate that we are looking for will need to be able to take a project from concept all the through the finish line into production and be comfortable making this happen. We're looking for someone that's excited about data modeling, forecasting, optimization, and has a strong vision of how data science and engineering can create lasting value for our customers and T-Mobile.

Responsibilities:
  • Extract, prepare and model large, complex data sets using a combination of skills, including machine learning theory, mathematics, statistics, and programming.
  • Perform data mining and statistical analyses on ad hoc business problems.
  • Define problems in mathematical terms. For example, "Why is product feature X underperforming?" and "What data on user behavior might help explain it?"
  • Communicate important information and insights to business leaders using verbal, written, and data visualization skills.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Discipline (math, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, engineering) related field or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 yrs industry experience in predictive modeling, data science, and analysis in an ML engineer or data scientist role
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in SQL, Python, R or other machine learning software a plus
  • 1-3 yrs experience with data curation, ETL process, managing and supporting complex data pipelines
  • Superior communication, organization, presentation, and data visualization skills
  • Wireless/Telecom experience a plus

T-Mobile's Commitment

Base Pay Range: $86,300 - $155,700

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
