The OpportunityNeuma Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect to support a recently awarded 5-year contract with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) through 2030. In this role, you will provide architectural leadership across more than seven cross-functional development teams, guiding the design and delivery of enterprise-grade, custom software systems supporting mission-critical intelligence operations. Our programs are diverse and evolving, spanning custom desktop applications, iOS mobile apps, web platforms, and AI infrastructure initiatives. This role is ideal for an architect who enjoys working across technical domains, shaping strategy, and enabling teams to deliver secure, scalable systems at enterprise scale. The ChallengeAs the Enterprise Architect, you will operate at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution. Most systems are developed in unclassified environments and deployed to classified networks, requiring careful architectural planning, strong governance, and close collaboration across teams. You will be responsible for clearly formulating, documenting, and communicating technical architectures that balance mission needs, security constraints, and long-term scalability. Success in this role requires the ability to influence both executive and technical stakeholders, streamline software delivery across multiple programs, and help teams navigate complexity without slowing innovation. What You’ll Do•Lead architectural design and technical direction across 7+ cross-functional development teams•Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks•Collaborate with engineering teams to design and deliver custom enterprise software systems•Provide hands-on architectural guidance across programs, from concept through production deployment•Serve as a key technical advisor to program leadership and executive stakeholders•Help streamline software delivery by promoting reusable patterns, shared services, and best practices•Collaborate with the AI Architect to shape foundational AI infrastructure and enable advanced AI capabilities across programs Technology EnvironmentYou will work across a modern, mission-focused technology stack, including:•Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Amazon S3, MinIO•AI Platforms: Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Bedrock•Data & Search: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch•Application Development:– Front-end: Angular– APIs: Node.js (NestJS, ExpressJS)•Enterprise & Integration: Hybrid unclassified-to-classified deployment environments What You Bring•15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and enterprise architecture roles•Active TS/SCI clearance (CI Polygraph preferred)•Proven experience leading architecture efforts across multiple development teams•Deep understanding of enterprise system design, scalability, security, and governance•Hands-on experience with AWS, object storage (Amazon S3, MinIO), and search technologies (Elasticsearch)•Experience with MongoDB and relational databases•Familiarity with AI platforms such as SageMaker and Bedrock, or a strong interest in shaping AI infrastructure•Exceptional ability to communicate complex architectures clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences•Strong leadership, collaboration, and decision-making skills Why Neuma?At Neuma, you’ll have the opportunity to shape enterprise-scale systems while working in a culture that values trust, collaboration, and balance.
