Systems Administrator with Security Clearance

Systems Administrator Country Intelligence Group is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to support our client in Fort Meade in the configuration, security, and maintenance of enterprise IT environments. The selected candidate will manage and optimize Linux/Unix systems, install and troubleshoot operating system software, and ensure compliance through regular patching and updates. The role includes configuring network components within virtualized infrastructures—such as Cisco ASA/Firepower and Palo Alto firewalls—while implementing automation to enhance performance and reliability. The Systems Administrator will also perform hands-on datacenter tasks including cabling, racking and stacking equipment, documenting system configurations, and resolving hardware and system issues. Tasks Performed: • Configures and manages Linux/Unix operating systems. • Applies DoD 8570 IAT Level II security principles. • Installs, loads, and maintains operating system software. • Configures network components in virtualized infrastructures. • Patches operating systems and maintains security compliance. • Performs cabling, racking/stacking, and IT system documentation. • Troubleshoots and remediates system and hardware issues. Education, Experience and Qualifications: • Minimum High School Diploma/GED with at least 15 years of relevant experience. • Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems with at least 10 years of relevant experience. • CWIP IAT 2 certification. • Experience configuring and managing Linux/Unix operating systems, and implementing automation/enhancements to improve reliability and performance. • Experience installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrity. • Experience configuring network components in virtualized infrastructures - e.g. Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto Firewalls. • Experience patching operating systems to maintain enterprise/network security compliance. • Experience cabling, racking/stacking, and documenting IT systems for client, server, storage, network devices, etc. • Experience remediating system and hardware problems throughout the resolution process. • Experience in: o Linux / Unix command-line o Scripting (Bash) o Docker o Kubernetes o Ansible (Playbooks), Puppet o Virtual Machine / IPSEC / VPN Tunnel (ASA to ASA) o Apache NiFi o STE/STN; IAVA Patching Other Job Requirements: • Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph. • U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check. • Location: Fort Meade, MD.
