Lead Cloud Platform Engineer (Hybrid)

We have an immediate need for a direct hire Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to join an energy management organization. The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for overseeing the software development and ensuring the deployment processes are efficient, reliable, and secure.

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

This job expects to pay about $120,000 180,000 annually plus benefits.

What You Will Do:


  • Providing guidance and leadership to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software products.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and agile development within the team.
  • Work with developers to optimize the software development process, integrating automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment, and other DevOps best practices.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of infrastructure and applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation).
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions for production systems, ensuring high availability and rapid response to incidents.
  • Manage and maintain DevOps tools and processes, including source control (e.g., Git), build and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), configuration management (e.g., Chef, Puppet), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Work with security teams to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards, and implement security best practices in the software development lifecycle.

What Gets You The Job:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, IT operations, or DevOps, including at least 2 years of experience managing a team.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps concepts and practices, such as continuous integration and deployment, infrastructure-as-code, and containerization.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and associated services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).
  • Proficiency with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby).
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and processes, including source control (e.g., Git), build and deployment automation (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI), configuration management (e.g., Chef, Puppet), and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
