Description:
TEKsystems is seeking a High Performance Computing (HPC) Solutions Architect to support a HPE sales team in a new effort to help identify requirements and develop HPC centered solutions for DISA. The HPC Solutions Architect will need to have a technical work history in administration and engineering of HPC systems, in addition to architecture and design experience, and be comfortable in customer facing roles interacting with the end client and developing, designing, and architecting solutions against stated requirements. This position will sit remotely (ideally in Southeast region) but does require monthly travel to the client sites, with the first focus areas being Montgomery, AL and Oklahoma City, OK. There are no active HPC systems operational at this time, however, this position may require hands on administration of future HPC systems once delivered or the team may expand to add administrators to complete those tasks.
Technical Requirements:
o Expert level experience with administration, engineering, and architecture support of HPC systems
o Experience with HPE Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM)
o Experience with High Speed Network Fabric (InfiniBand, Slingshot)
o Experience with clustered servers and storage, specifically with HPC systems
o Knowledge of Parallel File Storage System (PFSS) system administration
o Automation experience is nice to have (scripting, ansible)
o Knowledge of HPE product offerings is nice to have
Responsibilities:
o Work directly with HPE, DISA J9, and Mission Partners to define requirements
o Develop and present technical solutions utilizing HPE's HPC product line with support of the HPE DISA team
o Design and Architect HPC solutions that fit DISA and/or Mission Partners' needs
o Participate in activities related to the build, deployment, and acceptance of new HPC systems
o Participate in system tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of new systems
o Provide mentoring and education to DISA's assigned staff in HPC/AI
o Support Mission Partner Outreach as directed by DISA
o Support Service Creation activities to support DISA and DISA Mission Partner Activities
o Work with Customer on identifying and implementing additional service functionality on Customer's environment
Possible Future Responsibilities (may hire System Administrator for these functions):
o Responsible for the normal day-to-day administrative operation and maintenance of the HPE provided systems
o Provide on-going performance analysis, performance tuning for Customer's implemented environment and recommendations for future architectures
o Escalate issues and problems to HPE Support and/or Engineering as necessary
o Deploy and maintain high performance communications fabrics
o Assist with the identification, troubleshooting, and repair of software problems impacting performance of implemented solution
o Assist with the Installation of Customer's designated and properly licensed software patches and upgrade software/firmware as mutually agreed
o Assist with the resolution of software trouble tickets and software problems identified by Customer's Systems and users
o Resources shall intercede on Customer's behalf if any hardware or software malfunctions or misbehaves, and interact with service personnel when repairs are necessary
o Respond to Customer's designated software trouble tickets and software problems identified by Customer's designated system administrators and users
