Information System Security Engineer with Security Clearance

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Information Security Systems Engineer (ISSE) to lead the development and implementation of Program Protection across the full System Development Lifecycle. This role involves designing secure architectures, conducting threat assessments, developing protection strategies, and ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of Program Protection throughout the SDLCAssess systems for Critical Program Information (CPI)Conduct trade studies and develop Program Protection requirementsDesign and implement robust security architecturesPerform threat analyses, including attack/countermeasure assessmentsConduct Verification & Validation (V&V) activitiesServe as a subject-matter expert in Program ProtectionDraft Program Protection Plans (PPPs), Cybersecurity Strategies, and Security Classification Guides (SCGs)Collaborate with customers to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and assess system impactsUtilize RMF A&A processes (Steps 1–4) and develop Body of Evidence (BoE) packagesProcess A&A packages and support RMF accreditation of Platform IT (PIT) systemsSupport NSA Type 1 certification for cryptographic high-assurance devicesWork with NSA High Assurance products, IASRD, and SERD requirementsContribute to requirements development, design, testing, configuration management, and system maintenanceSupport policy development for emerging security technologiesAssist in evaluation, testing, and delivery of security architecture improvements and vulnerability remediation projectsConduct Security Testing and Verification activities Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant ISSE experienceOR Graduate degree with 10+ years of experienceOR 16+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degreeActive Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI preferred)Professional experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF)Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8140 (or NIST 800-181) certification within 6 months Preferred Skills:Experience with cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools such as ACAS and SCCFamiliarity with NSA High Assurance products and cryptographic certification processes EEOAt Encode, we believe that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
