GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to help support the JSP ETM-NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.Selected candidate will support Day-Shift: Tuesday - Saturday (6:00am - 2:30pm).Due to the nature of work this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed and will require full-time onsite supportMeaningful work and personal impact:* The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the success of multiple concurrent efforts.* Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.* Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.* Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.* Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.* Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.* Plans for implementation of enhancements.* Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.* Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.* Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.* Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.* Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks.* Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.* Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.* Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.What you'll need to succeed (Required):Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Senior Network Engineer must have:* Education: Bachelor's Degree. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in leu of degree.* Experience: 5+ years of related experience.* Security clearance level: Active Top Secret required with the ability to obtain SCI.* Certifications: Current IAT Level II certification required. In addition, candidate must possess a current Networking Certification to include Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba.* Role requirements: Hands-on experience/knowledge with Aruba networking systems required.GDIT is your place.
