Anika Systems is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support a federal contract in the Washington, DC area. The selected candidate will contribute to the success of a cross-functional IT communications team, supporting efforts across enterprise architecture and IT governance initiatives. This role is responsible for producing a wide range of documentation including system and process documentation, technical guides, developer-facing resources, and user support materials. This position is partly on-site in the Washington, DC area. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance. Key Responsibilities:* Manage the full lifecycle of operating systems for servers, PCs, Macs, scanners, and printers.* Oversee preventive maintenance contracts for application software and hardware assets.* Ensure compliance with hardware and software security policies.* Collaborate with the help desk team to diagnose and resolve customer technical issues.* Work with vendors to coordinate hardware/software support, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation.* Stay informed on vendor procedures and upcoming upgrades that may impact current systems.Legacy System Modernization Support:* Inventory legacy business applications and associated databases on standalone systems.* Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processing, including data cleansing and transformation.* Support data migration efforts to platforms such as Salesforce or Oracle applications.* Manage and support the decommissioning of legacy applications and underlying databases.* Develop and implement data archiving strategies using Adobe tools and Apple Macintosh systems, ensuring proper file naming conventions and compliance.Qualifications & Skills:* Experience in IT systems administration, technical support, or a related field.* Proficiency in Oracle Developer Suite 11g, SQL*Plus 11g, and TOAD (Tools for Oracle Application Developers).* Familiarity with Erwin Data Modeler for database modeling and documentation.* Strong knowledge of ETL processing, data transformation, and data archiving techniques.* Experience with Salesforce data integration and Oracle-based application environments.* Strong knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and enterprise software across both Windows and Apple environments.* Experience working in Apple Macintosh environments for technical data handling, archiving, and documentation support.* Understanding and application of naming conventions for modernization and legacy system decommissioning.* Ability to work effectively with vendors to manage support and upgrade processes.* Familiarity with IT security compliance standards and best practices.* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
