San Diego, CA, United States Cetera Financial Group, Inc. Full-time
Job Description

The Senior RIA Blueprint Technology Consultant supports Cetera's RIA Blueprint offering, an advisory platform built for independent Registered Investment Advisors. The role combines product ownership with direct technology consulting, helping advisory firms select, implement, and get full value from the systems they use to manage portfolios, serve clients, and meet regulatory obligations. It works closely with advisory firm principals and their staff, and internally with consulting and sales teams, other product owners, development teams, and compliance partners, acting as one of the primary voices of the RIA client inside the organization. Success is measured by advisor adoption of platform tools, the quality and timeliness of platform enhancements delivered, and the smooth onboarding of firms joining the platform. The role is distinctive in its breadth, since the same person helps shape the platform roadmap and then sits with advisory firms to put it to work.

What You Will Do:

  • Assess RIA clients' business models and operating structures, then recommend technology solutions that fit each firm's workflow, scale, and compliance obligations, so firms adopt tools they will actually use.
  • Guide advisory firms through the evaluation and implementation of CRM, custodial, performance reporting, trading, and client portal platforms, owning the recommendation and staying with the firm through go live.
  • Own the intake and prioritization of advisor requirements, feedback, and enhancement requests for the RIA Blueprint platform, working with other product owners and development teams to translate them into deliverable work.
  • Lead user acceptance testing for RIA Blueprint releases, confirming enhancements work as designed and meet advisor needs before they reach production.
  • Consult on portfolio model construction, maintenance, and deployment, sharing industry practices for model management, drift monitoring, and tax aware rebalancing.
  • Support portfolio trading workflows, including model based trading, rebalancing, and trade execution, helping firms move to scalable and repeatable processes.
  • Design and configure performance reporting templates and reporting systems tailored to each firm's client segments and reporting cadence.
  • Deliver training sessions and build documentation, guides, and onboarding materials that drive adoption among advisory firms and equip internal teams on RIA fundamentals, the RIA Blueprint offering, and IAR only structures.
  • Support merger and acquisition transitions and onboarding for firms joining RIA Blueprint, coordinating with consulting and sales teams to move firms onto the platform with minimal disruption to their clients.
  • Represent the RIA client throughout the Cetera enterprise by bringing advisor feedback to product, operations, and compliance partners so platform decisions reflect how advisory firms operate.

What You Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years in the financial services industry, including direct experience with the RIA business model, IAR structures, and advisory operations.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business recommendations for advisory firm principals, and to present that material to both advisor and internal executive audiences.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent priorities with limited direction in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.

What's Nice to Have:

  • Securities licenses (Series 7, 24, 63/65, 66) preferred
  • Working knowledge of RIA compliance requirements and advisor workflows, and prior hands on experience with advisory technology platforms such as Orion, Envestnet, or Black Diamond.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education in lieu of above.

Other Requirements

  • This role is hybrid and requires regular, in-person attendance during scheduled workdays in accordance with the Company's Hybrid Workplace Policy
