Title: Senior SQL Database Administrator / SQL DBA
Location: Richmond/Mechanicsville, VA – Hybrid, 1–2 days onsite per week
Duration: Long-term contract with extensions
Employment: W2 Only – No C2C / 1099
Work Authorization: All work statuses
Local Candidates Only – No Relocation
Important: Candidates must already be located in the Richmond, VA area and be able to work onsite 1–2 days per week. No relocation candidates.
We are seeking a Senior SQL DBA with 6+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments and strong Azure Cloud experience.
Key Responsibilities & Skills:
- SQL Server DBA administration and production support
- SQL Server 2012–2019+
- SQL Server 2022/2025 and Failover Clustering
- SQL Clustering, Mirroring, High Availability
- T-SQL development and query tuning
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Deadlocks, blocking, Query Store, Extended Events
- Very Large Databases (2TB+)
- SQL Server installation, upgrades, patching and migrations
- Database Migration Assistant (DMA)
- Query Tuning Assistant
- Azure Cloud / Azure SQL
- Snowflake or Databricks exposure
- SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
- Windows Server
- Database security, connectivity and availability
- Data modeling
- Application/database troubleshooting
- Cloud database migration and modernization
