Our client is the market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, we have 16 plants strategically located across the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Our client converts aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. They are ideally positioned to respond to the needs of an increasingly recycling-conscious world. Advanced technologies enable them to process a large variety of scrap and dross and reduce the amount of residual waste from aluminum manufacturing that would otherwise end up as landfill.

LOCATION: Morgantown, KY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the new Environmental Manager for our Morgantown, Kentucky location, you will provide key technical expertise and problem solving to business and operational leaders on environmental regulations, requirements, and best practices. Your responsibilities will impact our site air, water, waste, and landfill compliance programs.

We are seeking an experienced, career Environmental Manager ready to lead in areas of development, deployment, and continuous improvement for site environmental conformance and compliance. Air permit experience is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. or B.A. in HSE, environmental management or scientific/engineering discipline and 8+ years of experience in environmental or health, safety and environmental management.
  • Professional certification(s) in environmental management desirable, e.g., CHMM, REM.
  • State of Kentucky Landfill Manager certification or capable of achieving certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • Air permit experience is an absolute requirement for this role.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations, consensus standards and best practices with proven success in effective implementation of compliance and control plans.
  • Proven project management, execution, and partnering skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs., climb ladders and walk the plant floor when at manufacturing plants on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to wear mandatory PPE in plant environments (hard hat, safety eyewear, hearing protection, molten metal boots and molten metal protective clothing as needed.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and/or unheated buildings for extended periods to supervise emission testing activities at manufacturing plants.
