Responsibilities:
The Intermediate Systems Engineer leverages and continuously develops systems engineering expertise to support the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and systems-of-systems, as well as mission analysis for federal agencies. Responsibilities include:
* Use knowledge of systems and mission engineering, along with an understanding of sponsor needs, to identify areas where MITRE can provide meaningful impact.
* Apply modern engineering methods and tools, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, Mission Engineering, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics, to assess capability needs, requirements, architectures, designs, performance constraints and gaps, proposed changes, and verification and test approaches.
* Evaluate and compare alternative architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques while exploring large trade spaces.
* Identify and develop metrics to measure and analyze key system attributes, including robustness, resiliency, interoperability, quality, and maintainability.
* Supporting requirements management, interface management, and architecture change management processes.
* Perform system design and development activities, including software development, systems modernization, and architecture development.
* Contribute to multiple tasks across several government-sponsored projects, collaborating effectively within small to large multidisciplinary teams. Basic

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
* 2 years of experience in systems engineering and enterprise architecture
* Experience in systems engineering, mission engineering, and enterprise system design, integration, and modernization.
* Experience in requirements analysis, architecture development, interface management, trade-space analysis, and system verification and testing.
* Experience in applying modern engineering methods and tools, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering, data analytics, and quantitative analysis, to evaluate system capabilities, performance, resiliency, interoperability, and technical gaps.
* Willingness and ability to learn new tools/concepts in a variable environment of government sponsors
* Must have an active Secret U.
