Program Overview About The Role Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Business, National Airspace, and Technical Computing Services (BNATCS) contract. The Senior Systems Architect Advisor provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise in the design, integration, and sustainment of critical FAA National Airspace System (NAS) automation architectures. In this high-impact role, you will guide the modernization and mission continuity of systems that form the backbone of U.S. air traffic operations-including ERAMS, STARS, ATOP, MEARTS, and TFMS. By applying advanced architectural practices, you will ensure these systems remain reliable, secure, and interoperable while supporting FAA's long-term vision for a modernized NAS. Working closely with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams, you will influence architectural direction, validate approaches, and ensure solutions align with program and mission objectives. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Systems Architect Advisor: * Architectural Leadership: Define, design, and validate architectures for complex, large-scale FAA automation systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals, performance needs, and regulatory requirements.* Integration and Modernization: Develop strategies to integrate new technologies and capabilities into existing FAA infrastructures, supporting mission-critical functions such as collection, analysis, production, and dissemination of air traffic data.* Mission Continuity: Safeguard the reliability, availability, and scalability of automation systems that directly impact the National Airspace System.* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with FAA leadership, engineering teams, and contractors to align architectural approaches with program objectives, stakeholder needs, and industry best practices.* Technical Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses and trade studies to determine optimal solutions, leveraging commercial off-the-shelf products, reusable components, and custom designs as needed.* Interoperability and Standards Compliance: Ensure architectures comply with FAA enterprise technical frameworks, security standards, and interoperability requirements across systems and domains.* Innovation and Strategy: Identify emerging technologies, evaluate their potential, and recommend strategies for adoption to strengthen the FAA's long-term automation capabilities.* Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and oversight to engineering teams to ensure architectural consistency and high-quality design outcomes.* Executive Communication: Deliver clear and persuasive insights on architecture tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to FAA stakeholders and executive leadership.Qualifications Job Requirements * Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).* Extensive background supporting FAA programs, with in-depth knowledge of NAS Automation architectures such as ERAMS, STARS, ATOP, MEARTS, and/or TFMS.* Demonstrated expertise in designing, evaluating, and integrating large-scale automation system architectures for mission-critical environments.* Proven ability to lead architecture development across multiple domains, balancing performance, security, scalability, and interoperability.* Strong track record of collaboration with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align architectural solutions with program and mission objectives.* Ability to interpret complex technical requirements and translate them into practical, reliable, and future-ready solutions that ensure the integrity and modernization of FAA automation systems.* U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.#BNATC #BNATC #BNATC #BNATC #BNATC #BNATC SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
