If they work 36 hours they will be paid 36 hours. If they leave early or take a day off they will not be paid for time not worked.
JOB SUMMARY
Providesdirect and indirect patient care in the emergency, acute care, outpatient, and swingbed care setting. Provides care thatreflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professionalexpectation with a minimum of supervision. Is able to triage patients safely, rapidly and accurately, when theyenter the emergency care department. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs,as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with the attending provider aboutchanges in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately tochanges in condition or response to treatment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
· Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes,consults with other staff as required and adjusts nursing care processes asindicated to ensure optimal patient care.
· Completes orientation packet and checklist as assigned.
· Cross trains to learn the use of any new equipment.
· Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on allpatients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and thegeneral patient population.
· Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriatecare to patients. Accurately assignstriage categories.
· Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain managementtechniques. Educates the patient andfamily regarding pain management. Documents pain assessments and re-assessment consistently in theelectronic health record (EHR).
· Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient andcorrectly interpret results.
· Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring identifiesdysrhythmias and treats appropriately.
· Ability to perform waived testing (point-of-caretesting) per Clinical Laboratorys and the patient care units policies andprocedures.
· Ability to interpret the results of waived tests; takesappropriate action on waived test results.
