Description: CHARGE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. RTO greater than 5 days will not be approved. ICU/PCU Overflow - Will also work on PCU & Med/Surg - Tele patients as this are an overflow unit. 

Patient Ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5: 1 PCU. Please be prepared to work with higher ratios of 1:6-1:7 if operations require it. 

This is a flagship hospital, licensed for 815 beds. Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade recognized Hospital with an A, nationally recognizing Mission Hospital's achievements in protecting patients and providing safer healthcare. Hospital also earned the prestigious Magnet Designation in November 2020, the highest international honor that distinguishes organizations that meet rigorous nursing excellence standards.

We are the region's referral center for the only Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit. And Children's Hospital the region s only children s hospital, including a pediatric emergency room providing 30 pediatric subspecialists. We serve as the busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas. Mission Hospital provides the only open heart and interventional cardiology in the region. Earned a three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for its patient care and outcomes.

Number of Beds: 10 ICU/PCU Overflow 

Patient Ratios: 2:1 ICU, 4-5: 1 PCU 

Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): see above ratios, charge nurse out of staffing, no unit secretaries or PCTs. Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RN / Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Staff RN 

Type of equipment: Lift equipment, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), ventilators, IV pumps, etc. 

Documentation system: Cerner 

Scheduling requirements: 12 hr shifts, every other weekend requirement, holiday support. 

On Call Requirements: No 

Floating policy: Yes, travelers will be required to float 

Patient Experience requirements: Bed side shift report is mandatory in all areas of the hospital, relief charge nurse will be expected to perform nurse leader rounding. Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Must have: Medical ICU experience in large facility, comfortable with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Must be a critical thinker, flexible and works well with others. Advanced skills needed: ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors, etc), advanced hemodynamic monitoring, central line management. 

Procedures performed on unit: assist providers with any bedside procedures as needed i.e, chest tube insertion, intubations, etc. 

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS 

Dress Code: (Required uniform) Navy Blue or white scrubs
