Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the pediatric acute and critically ill patient. The RN in the Super Pool will organize, implement, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care. This plan will be individualized, family centered, and holistic. The RN in the Super Pool will maintain a safe and therapeutic environment as well as participate in MCCH initiatives and process improvement. The RN in the Super Pool will maintain high-quality age specific care for the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and young adult population. The RN in the Super Pool must be willing to switch shifts for periods of time based on the facility need. The RN in the Super Pool will support the mission, vision and values of the organization.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
  • If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. 
  •  Tier 2: Must be able to work in PICU, CICU, NICU Level IV, Peds ED, 6D, 6N, 6NW, Stem Cell Transplant (pediatric patients). 
  • 2 years of critical care type experience required with competency to float to others within Tier 2.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse
  • Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
