Travel Nurse (RN) CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) at Epic Travel Staffing summary:

The Travel Nurse (RN) CVICU is responsible for providing specialized care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for adult patients. They are required to have at least two years of CVICU experience, and hold BLS and ACLS certifications, while working 48-hour weeks on night shifts. Travel nurses in this role assist with critical bedside procedures and must be ready to work during major holidays as per assignment requirements.

Shift: Nights, 7p-7a, 12x4, 48hrs per week, EOW

Length: 8 weeks

HOLIDAYS: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

Unit Info:PAH's CVICU is a 42 bed ICU specializing in open heart surgery averaging 6-8 bypass pump surgical cases per day as well as post surgical heart transplants and LVAD. CVICU contract nurse requires immediate post open heart surgical admission experience as well as experience with Swan Ganz catheters, utilizing the manual thermodilution syringe to calculate the Cardiac Index, and epicardial and transvenous pacing wire experience. Common bedside procedures include assisting with the care of patient during bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line insertions, arterial line and swan ganz catheter line insertions.

If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
