Automotive Mechanic Technician II - $1,500 New Hire Tool Bonus at Cox Automotive summary: This position is for a mid to high-level automotive mechanic technician responsible for preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex vehicle repairs across various systems. The role requires strong customer service skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates ideally have 3-5 years of experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license, with flexible work hours including nights and weekends. A mid-level to High-level vehicle technician that can provide high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs for various accounts. Provides service and delivery of vehicles with exceptional service to customers and is mindful of the control of costs. The technician may work independently or in a team environment.Perform Preventive Maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and inspection of vehicle for mechanical deficiencies.Performs some more complex repairs, and advanced diagnostics.Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance which may include: OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components, etc.Keep shop area clean and tidy. Perform work in accordance with safety standards. Dispose of all fluids in a safe manner and in accordance with all regulations.Assures availability of specialized trucks by troubleshooting and repairing complex hydraulic systems, generators and electrical systems, hybrids, and on-board computer systems.Go above and beyond when we look at a vehicle, so the work is done at the higher standard.Take action on a work without being asked by one's supervisor.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred.A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.3-5 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.Must be able to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessaryMust continue training to meet with technology and automotive changes as they occur.Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.ASE's / Certifications is a plusVision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Requires physical ability and mental acuity to execute the duties of the position successfully within required timeframes to meet business requirements.SMCOXUSD 23.65 - 35.48 per hourCompensation:Hourly base pay rate is $23.65 - $35.48/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.Benefits:Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
