Respiratory Therapist Traveler Float Pool

A Respiratory Therapist Traveler Float Pool member provides critical respiratory care to patients across various hospitals, including monitoring and communication of patient conditions. The role requires certification as an RRT, state licensure, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering effective patient education. This full-time position involves evaluating therapy protocols and responding to emergency situations, contributing to the overall improvement of patient lives.

Department: Respiratory Therapist Float Pool
- Float between University of Colorado Hospital, Longs Peak Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital, and Broomfield Hospital
FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Rotating D/N
Pay: $45.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend
LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles
13 week assignments available - extension options
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- CO RRT State licensure
- 1-year experience
- NRP
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

Job Duties:
- Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
- Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment utilizing appropriate protocols.
- Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community resources
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
