The Clinical Nurse V in the Critical Care Float Pool at Albany Medical Center provides comprehensive patient care across various critical care settings, including ICUs and emergency care. This role involves assessing patient needs, coordinating care, and ensuring compassionate treatment while advancing professional nursing competencies. Joining a dynamic team at a Level I trauma center, the nurse contributes to the delivery of high-quality healthcare and participates in the Nursing Professional Advancement Pathway.

Float Pool_8_Day (United States of America)Join the dynamic team in the Albany Medical Center Critical Care Float Pool today An opportunity to gain and practice critical care skills in the following areas: Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU , and our intermediate care ICU- the MSICU.
RNs in the Critical Care Float pool also have the opportunity to gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas.
You will have the opportunity to work in all the Critical Care areas at the Region’s only Level I trauma center. Consider joining this dynamic, highly skilled Nursing team today
The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/he assures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. ** Registered Professional Nurses that participate in the Nursing Professional Advancement Pathway (NPAP) must progress from novice to competent within a specialty. Nurses are eligible to apply for advancement to proficient or expert status as outlined in the NPAP.
