Massage Therapist at ECHN summary:

A Massage Therapist provides therapeutic massage services in compliance with established standards and techniques, primarily at ECHN rehabilitation sites. They are responsible for performing various massage techniques while ensuring safety and proper body mechanics, as well as adhering to universal precautions. Eligibility for certification and a minimum of one year of progressive experience in massage therapy are required qualifications for this role.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Administers therapeutic massage in accordance with prescribed standards and techniques. Provides massage therapy at ECHN rehab sites.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

·         Graduate of an accredited school of massage therapy.

·         Must hold or is eligible for Ct license and have one year progressive experience in massage therapy.

3.      Performs massage strokes at the appropriate rate.

4.      Uses universal precautions to prevent the transmission of serious communicable diseases.

5.      Uses proper body mechanics in the performance of job.

6.      Identifies precautions and /or contraindications to utilizing massage techniques.

7.      Assists in marketing when appropriate.

8.      Ensures work area is safe and clear of obstacles.
