Facilities & Maintenance - Palm Springs/Joshua Tree KOA

The Palm Springs/Joshua Tree KOA is a campground looking for enthusiastic people to join our maintenance team. Located in the beautiful California desert about 40 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park, we are a wintertime destination offering camping in RVs, Cabins, Deluxe Cabins and tents year round. Our goal is to create a great camping experience for our guests by offering excellent customer service. Working Hours:
- Range from 7am-8pm
- Thursdays - Sundays with an occasional added days as park demands require
- Seasonal 30-40 hours/week, May - October
- Reports to the General Manager
- $17/hour and up depending on experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures customers receive a high level of service consistent with our customer service philosophy
- Help to ensure the safety of guest and campground property with attentive observation and action
- Coordinate with office staff for problem resolution when available
- Communicate with all staff and management using Microsoft Teams System
- Help enforce campground policies and implement solutions consistent with goals of park
- Proactive guest management to ensure positive environment for all guests
- Custodial work to maintain high standard of cleanliness in all facilities
- Pool maintenance
- Proactive approach to the daily repair and maintenance of campground facilities
- Project work for the development of the campground
- Assist other departments with task completion to ensure a positive experience for all guests
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Good customer service and communications skills
- Able to work with others and work independently
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, irrigation and landscaping
- Able to operate light vehicles safely on property
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of common repair tools
- Running Bobcats, Tractors and other equipment a plus
- Capable of digging, bending, climbing, and other manual labor
- Previous experience in RV park maintenance valued
- Professional Appearance and attitude towards guests and fellow team members
- Communicate professionally and patiently
- Be on your feet during shift and able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
We are seeking applicants with at least 1 year of general maintenance experience. Many of our projects are done in house so a broad base of knowledge and strong work ethic is important. Successful applicants who have their own fully self-contained RV may be considered for on-site accommodations, but it is not a requirement of employment nor a guarantee of accommodation.
